Mud Cloth, a traditional African textile whose fabric dying process involves fermented mud, is back in a big way. From mud cloth upholstered chairs to handbags and accessories, this is a major trend popping up. Despite the fabric’s ancient roots (and a resurgence in the 80’s) it is a textile and pattern that now feels very modern. The trick is to go for monotone, organic shapes and to use it sparingly as a pop of pattern.
