And speaking of talented friends, Oami Powers, the seamstress/owner behind Judah Ross relocated here from San Francisco a little over a year ago and I couldn’t be happier about it. She is a sweet friend and such an inspiration.
Her creations are gorgeous: simple, well-crafted, elegant. Oami is also a textile designer and oftentimes hand paints, or block prints onto her fine fabrics. I have a weakness for textiles and have admired the marriage of printmaking and fabrics since taking a class in college. Oami does a great job of matching her broad painterly brush strokes with her more delicate apparel designs.
She made me a skirt and it fits like a dream. Seriously, buy one of her pieces, it will be a well-loved staple that will last forever.
Aww, thanks for the generous words Michelle. Good pic of us too!!
