I have started a series of classes through indieNC in downtown Raleigh that features local designers. I’m excited about the one on Thursday about finding your home decorating style taught by my friend Jamie Meares of Furbish Design.

If you read the indieNC blog you may recognize Jamie from her house tour that was featured here. Check out these before and after pictures of a room she recently renovated with a budget of $500. Sign up for the class here (We are having some technical difficulties on our website though, so please pay via the paypal option in the cart or call us at 919-341-8328 to reserve your space).

Hurry space is limited! The class will be held this Thursday from 7-9pm in Downtown Raleigh. Sign up here.

My business, indieNC, is included in a nice article in the Independent this week. The feature is about local designers creating products using repurposed and earth-friendly materials.

The article also highlights Raleigh designers Morgan Meredith, a textiles student at NC State and Jamie Powell of Revamp Vintage.

You can read the full article and see a gallery of related products at the Indepedent’s website here.

Last week on the indieNC blog I interviewed the affable owner of Bake It Pretty, Amanda Krueger. Read the interview here to find out more about her vintage-inspired baking supplies business.

And check out her blog for fun tutorials like this one on how to make button-shaped candies. Also, be sure to check out the picture gallery on her website showing the clever creations customers have made using her cupcake toppers.

I’m pleased to announce the launch of indieNC.com, a hip online boutique featuring products from North Carolina designers. This is a project that has been in the works for a few years and has finally come to fruition. I couldn’t be happier with the group of designers that are on board and the way it has turned out!
To celebrate, I’m offering 10% off purchases now through November 15, 07 with coupon code: launch07
