Things I'm digging today: the movie Brief Encounter & this photo. . . .
For all you new readers, welcome, and thank you for visiting! This blog is where I chronicle the things that inspire me: color, patterns, photography, food, vintage finds, with a little of my own working designs and projects thrown in here in there. I try to post daily but you know, sometimes life . . .
If you've been to my blog lately you've probably noticed that it looks different, and well, a little like a work-in-progress. That's because it is. I wanted to start the new year with a blog that better matched the brand of my shop. As a do-er and a former web designer it is hard not to just go . . .
Victoria over at SFGirlByBay and other bloggers have asked to hear your 2010 resolutions, I too would love to hear them. Reading over other people's goals is very motivating and inspiring. Jordan Ferney, the mom & indie business woman behind Oh Happy Day does a good job of turning the everyday . . .
We are now accepting vendor applications for the tenth! Rock & Shop Market on Saturday June 20th from 1-5pm at the Tir Na Nog in Downtown Raleigh. I'm participating in the Happily Handmade Giveaway with over 40 other indie designers offering up free goods. All you have to do is sign up for my mailing list here and you are entered to win one of twenty five gift baskets valued at $300 each! Find out more details here. These are some of my top . . .
My business, indieNC, is included in a nice article in the Independent this week. The feature is about local designers creating products using repurposed and earth-friendly materials. The article also highlights Raleigh designers Morgan Meredith, a textiles student at NC State and Jamie Powell of . . .
What a lovely and productive weekend. I managed to spend almost all of it outdoors, which was awesome because the weather was beautiful. I got my seeds started and two days later I already have some sprouts. I painted the cute little French bistro patio set that I scored on Craigslist a nice shade . . .
I just wanted to take a quick moment to say thank you to a few blogs that have mentioned Feminine Modern recently. And if you found my site via one of theirs, welcome, I am glad to have you! I am a big fan of all of these blogs (decor8, Darling Dexter & Desire to Inspire) so it was an honor . . .
Whitney over at Darling Dexter has a great post today questioning the need to pursue many creative paths instead of focusing on just one.
