I get asked the following question a lot. Instead of just answering all the emails individually, I thought I’d wise up and post my thoughts here for more people to see. “I was wondering if I could pick your brain about the collaborative space you had at the old Cary shop. Myself and a few friends . . .
I love collecting recipes and combining flavors at home. It’s extra special getting to do this at Gather as well. Each month I try to work with my staff to come up with a “drink of the month”, this month it is a delicious Ginger Matcha Latte. So good. I also adore these green mugs that I stock in . . .
It only took a year, but I finally got business cards for Gather, and I'm really loving them! I created the dogwood pattern specifically for using at Gather in branding, and I have it in various spots throughout the shop, including wallpaper. The dogwood is the state flower of both North Carolina . . .
It's been a big year with so much forward propelling movement that I've hardly had time to pause, let alone blog. That said, I've learned a lot, built a lot, and connected with countless fabulous individuals through Gather, my gift shop/coffee shop/coworking hybrid space in downtown Cary, North . . .
I'm really excited about this upcoming class at Gather on Saturday. It finally feels like Spring here in North Carolina and I am definitely in gardening mode. In the class on Saturday you will make and take home this DIY Succulent Wreath full of over 30 different succulents. Not only do these plants . . .
Last night we (and if you haven't noticed by now, I tend to use "we" in the collective sense when referring to my projects but really just mean me since I'm the sole owner of Gather, Rock & Shop, etc.) hosted our first class at Gather, and it was filled to capacity! That really warmed my heart. . . .
I have a ton of posts to put up and they will just have to be non-linear since most of them are pictures of things that have already happened. In the interim, a quick update: Gather is now open, and not only is it a coworking space with a beautiful garden patio but it has also evolved into a coffee . . .
I always think it is fun to see progress shots. And while the space I am opening in downtown Cary has been changing a lot in the past few weeks since I've gotten the keys I still have quite a bit to do before my first tenants move in on June 15th. Here are before shots of the space that I took when . . .
I'm excited to say that I'm embarking on a new chapter. I've found a wonderful little storefront in downtown Cary, North Carolina that I will be leasing starting May 1st. The space will be called Gather and you can follow along on the facebook page here. Kindred really opened so many doors and . . .
Every once in a while I'll be on Pinterest and I'll see an image of Kindred that's been posted and re-posted dozens upon dozens of times. Today was one of those mornings. A blogger that I follow had pinned an image of Kindred's front door and that image had then been re-pinned scores of times from . . .
So, what were the gory details you ask? Well, there’s too much, and it’s too complicated to get into fully. Let’s just say the rug was simply pulled out from under me, and everyone else involved without being allowed or given the opportunity to restructure. A company came to me brandishing a leased . . .
I've been having a hard time quantifying my experience with Kindred. I have so much to say about it that it's going to take multiple posts for me to get it all out. It was, perhaps, a once in a lifetime opportunity where I was able to turn a long planned, thoughtful, business idea into a tangible, . . .
