Raw Wood Shelves / Studio Wall

Because of the storage space needs in my studio and the fact that I like to have my folders within arm’s reach, I plan on putting up shelving above the desk area in my studio. I love the look of raw wood shelving and have used reclaimed wood as a shelf in our entrance but it is too cost prohibitive in the studio. We have wood sitting around from another project and I’ll just stain it a darker color to give a similar look. I think the wood will look great against the muted eggplant color I am going to paint the walls.

I found these great shelf brackets at Ace Hardware for $8/piece and am going to use them to hold up the shelves.

I have mixed feelings about painted wood floors. I love the stenciled ones, but only if they are in horrible shape. I’ve been thinking about painting our concrete patio and using a stencil … hmmm
